Sharon Chepkemoi

Mathematical Modeler III
Sharon is a mathematical modeler in the Data Science Programme unit. She analyzes and interprets data and develops models to inform evidence-based decisions to promote the population’s health and well-being. Her interest revolves around the analysis of longitudinal data and epidemiological modeling. She holds a Master’s in Mathematical Sciences from the African Institute for Mathematical Sciences (AIMS), South Africa, collaborating with Stellenbosch University, and a degree in Actuarial Science from the University of Eldoret (Kenya). Before her current position, Sharon was a part-time Actuarial Science lecturer at the University of Eldoret.
Sharon is driven by the chance to tackle challenging problems, understand the data, and find solutions that can have a positive impact on improving people’s lives and supporting communities. Aside from work, she enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking and volunteering to support charity work.
