Doris N. Omao

Advocacy and Communication Officer
Doris is an Advocacy and Communication Officer within the Policy Engagement and Communication Division. Her work entails developing and implementing advocacy strategies, policy engagement, and designing evidence-based communication products to raise awareness, influence decision-making, and foster stakeholder engagement on public health issues. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from Daystar University and is pursuing an MA in Communication for Development at the United States International University (USIU) and has over five years of experience in Advocacy, Communication, and Program Administration. Before joining APHRC, she worked with SEA Inc. Public Relations and Marketing as a public relations and communication assistant and as a customer experience executive at M-kopa Solar Company.
Doris’ professional journey is fueled by her passion and commitment to creating meaningful change in communities through policy engagement, advocacy, and communication. She is a 2019 YALI (Young African Leaders Initiative) alumni, a program designed to empower young African leaders by equipping them with the skills, knowledge, and networks to drive positive change in their communities and across the continent.
