
Lyagamula Kathambi Kisia
Research Officer
Lyagamula is a Public Health Researcher and Project Coordinator with experience in digital health, maternal, newborn, child health, and health system programs. She supports managing and implementing several projects within the Chronic Disease Management (CDM) Unit under the Health and Wellbeing Theme.
Lyagamula joined APHRC as an intern after completing her Bachelor of Public Health from Monash University. She has since worked in various roles, including field team leader, (field) supervisor, and research assistant. In 2021, she furthered her education by completing her Master’s in Public Health at the James P Grant School of Public Health, BRAC University.
In addition to her work at APHRC, Lyagamula has gained industrial experience at World Vision South Africa, volunteered at Ulwazi Tutoring Programme (Johannesburg) and Faraja Cancer Support in Nairobi, and consulted on various public health projects.
Lyagamula is passionate about adopting holistic approaches to improving the health and well-being of people regardless of their socio-economic status. She strongly advocates for equity and justice in resource distribution and strives to contribute significantly to finding simple, sustainable solutions to persistent problems in our region.
