Erick Omari
DATA SYSTEMS DEVELOPER
Erick is a data systems developer in the data synergy and evaluations department. He is a passionate software developer with over 15 years of experience designing, building, and maintaining software products. He also knows various programming languages and development frameworks and has a track record of producing high-quality software. Before joining APHRC, he was a Senior Developer developing web and mobile applications at the Standard and Nation Media Groups, developing news gathering, publishing, distribution, advertorial, and e-commerce platforms.
He is the in-house data systems developer attached to the Research theme, creating various apps to mine, capture, and analyze data. He holds a Bachelor of Science in computer science from the University of Nairobi, Kenya. He is motivated by a strong ambition to build, design, and execute scalable microservices architecture that improves system performance and dependability. He is also interested in implementing CI/CD pipelines utilizing Jenkins, Docker, and Kubernetes to streamline the development and deployment processes.
Erick’s passion is developing systems that solve daily business needs in a changing and competitive technological world. He is also keen on workplace safety; thus, things related to first aid, fire rescue, and response are very close to his heart. He is a self-starter and self-motivator with keen attention to detail. He prides himself on completing assignments within budget and schedule.
