Shukri works under the Health Challenges and Systems Program. She holds a Masters degree in Public Health (MPH) – International Health with a concentration in Child Health from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg school of Public Health (2006) and a Doctor of Pharmacy Degree (PharmD) from the University Of Maryland School Of Pharmacy (2004).
Prior to joining APHRC, Shukri interned at National AIDS/STDS Control Programme Kenya (NASCOP) where she took part in the management and supply of Antiretrovirals to Health facilities across Kenya at the Kenya Medical Supply Agency (KEMSA).
Prior to this, She has also worked as a Pharmacist in the US from 2004-2008. Her research interests include maternal and child health, infectious diseases, strengthening of health systems and translating research to policy and action.
