Joshua Amo-Adjei

Associate Research Scientist

Joshua works under the Population Dynamics and Reproductive research program. He is currently working on two projects – Maternal near-misses due to unsafe abortion in Kenya and Phase III of The reversing the stall in Fertility decline in Western Kenya: Investigating Family Planning related myths and misconceptions.

He holds PhD, MPhil and BA degrees from the University of Cape Coast, Ghana, where he worked as a Principal Research Assistant and later as a lecturer between 2014 and 2016. While in Ghana, he was involved in several research projects either as the lead or co-researcher on wide range of public health and developing issues including but not limited to tuberculosis control, comprehensive sexuality education, policy reviews and food security projects evaluation. He has published in respected peer-reviewed journals such as Social Science and Medicine, BMC Health Services Research, Journal of Biosocial Science, among others. He also served on the Advisory Board of the National Tuberculosis Control Program (NTP) of Ghana prior to joining APHRC and peer-reviews for several international journals.

Joshua is driven by research that makes contribution to knowledge and practice.
