Fredrick is leading the Regional Education Learning Initiative (RELI) which brings together over 40 education partners across East Africa and DRC with the aim of making them effective through the provision of targeted Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning support, knowledge synthesis and collaborative peer learning.

Before joining APHRC, Fredrick was a fulltime student, studying PhD in Economics (due to graduate in December 2017), at the School of Economics, University of Cape Town, under the African Economic Research Consortium (AERC) scholarship.  His thesis explored the Human Capital formation of Children in Kenya- focusing on the role of Teachers, Private Schools and the Family. Broadly, he has research interests in health, education and labour markets.  Prior to enrolling for PhD, Fredrick worked at the World Bank (2009-2012) as a Research Economist (on Extended Term Consultancy basis).  During this period, he focused mainly on program implementation and research, spanning from value-for-money analyses in public spending to service delivery analyses, in education and health sectors. Before then,  he worked at the Kenya Institute for Public Policy Research and Analysis (KIPPRA) (2007-2008), as a Young Professional, where he undertook policy oriented research in education, health and labour markets.
