Eva Watiri Kamande

Research Officer

Eva works under the Health Challenges and Systems research program, on the Partnership for Maternal, Newborn and Child Health (PAMANECH) project. She supports the implementation of the project activities in Korogocho and Viwandani slums in Nairobi.

Eva holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Microbiology (2007) from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (J.K.UA.T), and Masters of Science degree in Public health (2011) obtained from the same university. She also has certifications in M&E, and HIV /AIDS management.

She joined APHRC in September 2012 prior to which she worked as a volunteer in Promotive Health Consultants, and AMREF-Kenya in monitoring and evaluation of projects including the Maternal, Newborn and Child Health project in the Eastern Region and the Personal Hygiene and Sanitation Education (PHASE) project in Kibera.

Eva is driven by the belief in an African continent that can solve its own problems through research and development of policies supported by scientific evidence. She is a NASCOP-registered HIV testing counselor.
