Danielle Doughman is the Policy Outreach Manager at the African Population and Health Research Center, where she is a member of the Policy Engagement and Communications Division (PEC).
She has a Master of Science in Public Health from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Gillings School of Global Public Health, Department of Health Policy & Management. She has experience working in health policy and advocacy at the state, regional, and national levels in the United States and also has public health experience in the developing world.
Before returning to graduate school to pursue global health, she worked for a decade in disability policy and advocacy and as a social worker with the urban poor.
Her work is driven by a belief that sound, evidence-based policy can indeed change the world for the better, and that each of us has a role to play in bring about a healthier society.
