Daniel Ogbwabor is a public health physician with training in health economics, management and policy, and public administration. He holds MBBS from Nnamdi Azikiwe University; MPH and MSc in Health Economics, Management and Policy from the University of Nigeria; and MPA from Enugu State University of Science and Technology. His PhD study at the University of Nigeria focuses on governance analysis of free maternal and child healthcare programme in Enugu State, Nigeria. The study investigates functioning of bureaucratic and social accountability mechanisms in implementation of free care programme.
He represents Isi-Uzo Constituency and chairs the House Committee on Health in 6th Enugu State House of Assembly, Enugu State Government, Nigeria. He is also Principal Consultant at SIRA Nigeria Ltd, a private health research and consulting firm. He worked as Technical Specialist (health programme management, health financing and human resources for health) with Abt Associates in DFID-supported health sector reform programme in Enugu State, Nigeria. He was also, formerly, medical advisor to German Leprosy and TB Relief Association (GLRA) in Nigeria.
