PARTICIPATORY METHODOLOGY EXPERT FOR THE PUBLIC ENGAGEMENT ON THE RIGHT TO FOOD PROJECT

The African Population and Health Research Center (APHRC) is an international non-profit, non-governmental organization that carries out policy relevant research on population, health, education and development issues facing sub-Saharan Africa. APHRC invites applications for a visual participatory methodologies expert for its Public Engagement on the Right to Food project. The main aim of the project is to stimulate dialogue and engage the communities living in the urban informal settlements on the right to food.
Minimum qualifications required:
Post-doctoral training and experience in participatory visual methodologies
Experience in using various participatory visual methodologies including Photovoice, digital storytelling, participatory GIS and composite videos
Residence in Kenya during the project period
Job Description (responsibilities):
Facilitate in a capacity building workshop covering the following;
Monitoring and evaluation
Engage with the project team in building capacity and supervision of community organized groups using participatory visual methodologies for PE including;
Digital story telling
Graffiti and wall murals
Photovoice and participatory video data management/analysis and writing
The successful candidates will be engaged for about 10 working days for a period of 5 months (August to December 2018).
