The African Population and Health Research Center (APHRC) is a leading Africa-based, African-led, international research institution headquartered in Nairobi, Kenya, and engaged in multidisciplinary, evidence-based policy research. Our researchers address important issues and challenges facing Africa in areas such as education, health, population, aging, urbanization and well-being. We engage with policy makers in the region to disseminate our research findings to influence policy decisions and improve the quality of life in Africa.
A full stack web developer (Front and backend) with at least three (3) years of experience
in design & development of web applications and use of relational databases coupled
with web frameworks such as Code Igniter (demonstrate-able skills in Code Igniter would be an added advantage), Laravel, Zend or any other modern web framework.
Experience in design disciplines and processes such as client server solution
architecture, MVC Models, OOP or High performance solutions preferably using PHP frameworks.
Experience and extensive use of Content Management Systems particularly Word Press other modern CMS.
Ability to analyze and critique requirements and make recommendations on possible
Ability to complete work independently, incorporate client feedback, and deliver on time.
Scope of Assignment
The tasks will include but not limited to attaching multiple inline documents on editors, timed quizzes, handling and managing user sessions to ensure single instances for logins, ensuring specified word limits on text editors, saving and retrieving user progress on timed quizzes, fix bugs to correctly handle session caching during login time etc.
The work should take at most 8-10 working days.
