July 21, 2014

The APHRC family wishes to send our sincere condolences to the family and colleagues of Professor Joep Lange who died in the Malaysian Airlines Flight MH 17 that crashed in Ukraine.

Through the Amsterdam Institute for Global Health and Development, Professor Lange worked closely with APHRC as the lead partner on the SCALE-UP project and his work to improve the health of the urban poor in Nairobi will always be remembered.

We join the rest of the world in praying for the families of Prof. Lange and of the 297 other people who lost their lives in this terrible tragedy. May God grant them strength at this dark hour.
