Research Scientist

Dr. Njora Hungi joined APHRC in April 2013 as a Research Scientist. He is currently involved in a number of projects including the evaluation of impact of Partnerships for Public Education Program (PPEP) in Uganda and the evaluation of use of mobile technology to promote learning outcomes in secondary schools in Uganda.

Prior to joining APHRC, he worked with SACMEQ where he was in charge of all technical aspects of the Southern and Eastern Consortium for Monitoring Education Quality (SACMEQ) Projects for six years. Between 2005 and 2006, he worked on a variety of educational related projects at national and international levels at the Australian Council for Educational Research in Sydney. He holds a Ph.D. in Education Measurement and Assessment from Flinders University, Australia.

Dr. Hungi is driven by Research in education assessment, especially in early primary grades in areas of literacy and numeracy. In his free time, he enjoys a game of football, domestic tourism and watching comedy shows.
