Nelson Muhia

Research Assistant

Nelson works in several projects in the Health Challenges and Systems and Education Research Programs as a Research Assistant. His roles include training field staff on both qualitative and quantitative methods, supervision of field staff to ensure quality data collection, coordination of project field activities and handling data collection logistics.

Nelson holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics and Sociology from Egerton University (2009). He joined APHRC as a field staff in 2010 and also worked as a team leader before the current appointment. His interests are in Maternal and child health with focus on optimal breastfeeding practices

He wants to contribute to policy relevant research that impacts on the livelihoods and health of the people in Kenya, and indeed in Africa. Nelson also enjoys writing on other aspects of life such as the economy and education.
