Kanyiva Muindi

Research Officer

Kanyiva works under the Urbanization and Wellbeing research program. She is currently working on the Urban Risk project, Air Pollution studies as well as the Fecal Waste Management project. 

She holds a Master of Science degree in Field Epidemiology and Biostatistics from the University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa. Kanyiva joined APHRC in 2000, working on the Nairobi Urban Health and Demographic Surveillance System (NUHDSS) as a field staff and has also served as a field supervisor at APHRC.

She is passionate about the environment and is currently working on her PhD in this field. Her research interests include Migration, Adolescent Sexuality and Environmental Health. Kanyiva is driven by the fact that the future of the society is shaped by her actions today.
