As President of the International Association of Gerontology and Geriatrics, I would like to extend my congratulations for the successful establishment of IAGG’s Global Social Initiative on Ageing (GSIA). It is an international network of social gerontologists committed to addressing challenges arising from the impact of global trends on the quality of life of older persons. The world population is aging and we need to bring solutions to rapid changes in the 21st century arising from this demographic trend. It will highlight areas such as liveability, family, caregiving of older persons that are of major concern in allover the world.
