Knowledge, Attitudes and Practiced Behaviors (KAPB) Survey on Sanitation and Hygiene in Mukuru Slums

Program: Statistics and Surveys Unit (SSU)

The overall goal of this study is to generate credible evidence that will help assess the impact of the interventions carried out by GOAL Kenya and its partners in Mukuru slums. In particular, the project aims at collecting baseline and endline data on sanitation and hygiene behavior and poverty grading indicators by conducting surveys on knowledge, attitude and practiced behaviors (KAPB) in Mukuru slums.

The baseline survey will provide pre-intervention data on key outcomes while the endline survey will collect post-intervention information to help determine whether the platform that was put in place has yielded any positive impact in key sanitation and hygiene outcomes among the Mukuru slum dwellers. Using a mixed-methods approach, the evidence generated will be shared with national decision-makers, program implementers, researchers, and other stakeholders to promote learning and inform the targeting of sanitation interventions to maximize returns on investment.
