The Microdata portal is a web-based platform designed to publish metadata and documentation, and share qualitative and quantitative datasets from APHRC research studies since 2001. The datasets are freely available in widely used and easily convertible formats (e.g. Stata, SPSS) to all partners, researchers, academicians and post-graduate students (for their theses-related work). The portal was launched on June 12, 2014.
Users may use the platform to review abstracts and other study information and request datasets. Users must register – which is free and fast. Once logged in, users complete an online data request form. After a request is submitted, a confirmation email will be sent to the user. Data requests will be handled by APHRC within a maximum of ten working days. If the request is approved, the email will provide instructions on how to download the requested datasets at no cost.
